Anaheed is the host and producer of two major recurring belly dance events in the Southern California area: The Perfumes of Araby Swap Meet and (see below for details). In addition, she also hosts special engagements, such as concerts, workshops, and other related productions by popular local artists and out-of-town dancers.

Perfumes of Araby Swap Meet

Twice a year, in spring and fall, the Perfumes of Araby put on a lively day of swapping, shopping, and dancing! Notices about this event will appear on this page, and in MECDA publications.

We hope to return to Sunday for the next Swap. However, because our selection of 2009 dates was limited we made adjustments due to sharing SATURDAY with other renters. Thank you for understanding.

Location: Granada Pavilion, 11128 Balboa Blvd. Granada Hills, CA, (1/4 mile south of 118 fwy, corner of Balboa and San Fernando Mission Road, behind Trader Joe's) [see map and get directions]

Time - Schedule: Table set up starts 10:30 a.m., Swap open 11:30 - 4:30 p.m. Swapping and Dancing all afternoon!

Fees: Guests - entrance is $2 at the door

PERFORMERS
Dancing goes on all afternoon and in order to perform we ask that you register in advance.  Please choose one of the sign-up options below and follow-up with Anaheed to make sure your registration has been received:

Choice # 1) Use the on-line Registration Form to reserve a time to perform.
How to do: Click on the link above to go to the form. Fill out the fields and hit the "Submit Information" button at the end when you're done. If your information was submitted correctly, you must reach the "thank you" page, which says "You successfully submitted your registration form to the next Swapmeet event.". You should also expect to receive an e-mail from Anaheed confirming your registration within 1 week. Please call or e-mail Anaheed if you haven't got your confirmation.

Choice # 2) Use the Word file Form to reserve a time to perform.
How to do: Click on the link above and select "Open" when prompted by your browser. Microsoft Word will launch the form. Fill it out and save it in your computer with the following name structure: swapmeet_yourname.doc (replace “your name” with your real name or troupe name). Then e-mail your Word file to . You should expect to receive an e-mail from Anaheed confirming your registration within 1 week. Please call or e-mail Anaheed if you haven't got your confirmation. Cafe Beledy is now "Cabaret" Beledy

In 2007 Café became Cabaret Beledy and found a Great New Location!
Cabaret Beledy is now held at  the same facility where Anaheed teaches! This location was formerly the "Granada Hills Theater" and features a real stage in a lovely studio setting! "Gotta Dance Studio" 18167 Chatsworth St. Granada Hills, CA 91344 (NW Corner of Lindley and Chatsworth, plenty of free parking). [see map and get directions].

Over the years our Belly Dance Variety Shows have had wonderful performers such as Amara, Anja, Kamaal, Catharae, Jorjana, and of course Anaheed and members of Perfumes of Araby. In the future we'll continue to feature other local artists, teachers and students dancing to live or taped music of their choice. Do join us for a variety-packed evening in a wonderful theatrical setting!

Pre-show shopping Bazaar! Show starts 8pm.

Performers in upcoming Show may include: Anaheed, Christina Rizkallah, Amara, new Tribal group "Twisted Gypsy" and more! Plus the usual great live music by Var Daghdevirian, Maurice Saba and Rico Orrell.
